Design, Light, and Material: Interview with Studio Batoni
Studio Batoni, founded in 1995 by architect Fabrizio Batoni in Colle di Val d'Elsa, is distinguished by its fusion of modernity and artisanal tradition. This philosophy emphasizes attention to detail, material selection, and the study of forms and proportions.

What was the main inspiration behind the creation of the Pure sink?
The search for purity in a composition of forms and materials.
The project involves the use of different materials. What motivated this choice?
Our goal was to unite various materials, transforming them into “Pure.” The use of transparent colored resins and natural stones allowed us to create a product that combines aesthetics and practicality, delivering a strong visual impact while also being functional.
Can you describe the design process?
The first step is always the conceptualization, which translates into sketches, 3D models, and renders. We then move on to creating prototypes, a crucial step to test the shapes, functionality, and ergonomics of the basin. In collaboration with Rexa, we selected high-quality materials, ensuring a product that stands out for both beauty and lasting performance.
What environments is Pure intended for?
The sculptural design, choice of premium materials, and integration of innovative elements like ambient lighting elevate the bathroom's aesthetic, creating an immersive and luxurious experience. Pure is ideal for private residences, hotels, spas, and wellness centers, perfectly adapting to spaces that enhance modern minimalist interiors or reinterpret classic design in a contemporary way.

The primary goal was to enrich the sensory experience in the bathroom. The ambient lighting integrated into thebasin can influence the mood and atmosphere of the space, making the use of the washbasin a more pleasant and relaxing experience.

How does the design of Pure stand out compared to other products on the market?

We expect a reaction that goes beyond mere aesthetic admiration, engaging them in a complete emotional and sensory experience that combines beauty, innovation, and functionality.

It was an incredibly rewarding and meaningful experience. This recognition validates our creative vision, represents a reward for the dedication and hard work we've put in, and inspires us to continue exploring new horizons in the world of design.
